Did we get league sign-up info? I seem to remember something about that, but could use a nudge what the number/password was.

i believe it is 172721, password is baseball. it was supposedly emailed to the entire league, but people may have had onld ones on file.

try this, if it doesn't work, let me know and I will double check when I get home from work. No access to fantasy sports here during the day.

And don't worry Shawn - we'll send you plenty of reminders!

Am I the only one that thinks trying players you had on last year team now is dumb? I personally dislike that. If you want to trade, then do it after this year draft. Once the trade deadline pasts in the season, then no more teams for until next year. I don't mind if you trade one of the six players you're going to keep in 1 for 1 or 2 for 2 swaps, but not a fan of this trade that happen. Not saying to veto the trade or make it not happen. I just prefer no trading happens until the season begins.

Eva-

I'm not sure what to say other than that is how we've always done it, even before I took over as commish. Personally I think it adds some intrigue to the league and because it's a keeper league, makes it more interactive and involved.

I would just liken it to the regular MLB season, where there is a trade deadline on July 31, but then after the season there is free agency and trades and players changing teams, so why not in fantasy? I think once the rosters are posted each winter -I've always tried to have them up by the beginning of Feb- then it's open season on roster movements. Especially when some teams lose players to retirement or offseason surgery, etc, and want to rebuff their keeper list before the draft.

Anyway, I am just speaking IMO, and not for the whole league, so I hope others feel free to chime in as well. I know I have enjoyed the extra trade window, and others like Babs, 645, Jason, maybe a couple more have all utilized it at one point ot another to make trades. I apologize if I dropped the ball as commish in making sure the whole league was aware of it. I will make sure to do a better job keeping everyone in the loop. Thanks for the heads up Most importantly, just glad to have you back, and everyone else at that matter. Can't wait for ST!

I don't mind the trading. I just don't like people trading three players, one they likely can't keep, for two, likely, superior players as is the case with most 2-1, 3-2 deals in fantasy. Trades are opinion base, but overall, I say you got two better players for two players and one player that would have went into the draft. Also goes into the fact that they become draftable if you fail to trade them unlike in baseball, where the players remain on the team for the rest of year if you fail to trade them at the deadline. The year already over, so why keep players you're can't keep since you have six players to keep already if you're able to deal them before the draft for upgrades? You're basically dealing one free agent in uneven trades during the winter.

Your example doesn't work here. The example that does work is the Boston Red Sox trying to deal Jason Bay during the winter, which obviously can't happen since he's already a free agent. Basically what happen here since I doubt all three would have been kept when you look at the other four keepers.

I'm not angry or any thing. I just want to be clear on that. Just stating a opinion on the subject. It's won't chase me away if people prefer this method or if you wish not discuss it further. You're in charge, so you rather no discuss it further, then that's cool. I just don't see the fairness. If you wanted to pull this deal off before the deadline, then sure, but now? Doesn't seem fair after you got to use them for stretch run. Seems to be in your advantage if you're trading one player that likely won't make your cut during the winter.

Currently, you only have six signed players, the players you said want to keep. That's how I see.

Again, you can do whatever you like. Just stating my opinion on the matter.

good points Eva, and I can definitely understand where you are coming from. I also appreciate it that you presented it in a calm and respectful manner while still being able to get your point across. I remember when that wasn't the case in this league, and it's refreshing to know that we can all understand each other as adults, even when we disagree. So thank you .

The only other thing I can really contribute is that the reason I see it as ok, is that it allows someone like Jason a chance to pick up an extra keeper worthy player, by getting 3 back in exchange for 2. I really targeted him because I wanted Jacoby, as a Sox fan, but realized that Lee or Phillips wasn't enough to land him in a 1 for 1. But I also felt that throwing in both was too much, especially since Phillips plays a talent-scarce position, so the swapping of pitchers was a throw-in to even it out. Say Jason only had 5 players he really wanted to keep, he'd end up keeping a 6th that he'd rather throw back to the draft. So now he's able to trade keepers 4 and 5 for keepers 4,5,and 6, so it really does benefit us both. Plus, he told me he needed more power numbers and could afford to sacrifice steals.

The reason I see it as absolutely fair is that everyone else has the chance to do it to, with any other team. It's not as if some people are and some aren't. If you have 6 you like, then certainly keep them all, but if not, I would certainly encourage trades. Last year, 645 actually made a 4-for-1 trade and I think we were all cool with it. He had compiled an abundance of talent, so rather than throw it out and lose it for nothing, he flipped it into one much better keeper, while giving someone else multiple keeper pieces. And the year before, he traded Rollins and Matt Cain to Babs for Hanley Ramirez, and absolute steal, but we were all cool with it. So I guess it's just a difference of opinion, and I don't mind agreeing to disagree, but I hope during the course of this season we continue to all communicate with each other and maybe some of these things iron out a little smoother.

Again, thrilled to have you back, and thanks for raising a good point

I haven't really followed off season trades, but I'm pretty sure in years past the trades were basically keepers for keepers. When nonkeepers were involved it was subject to league/commish veto power. As far as 4 for 1 type trades, so long as the four people are all potential keepers, I see no problem. It just gives the acquiring owner multiple options to use keepers the best way he sees fit.
