Default Ernie & Robin

Lost a couple of MLB greats this past week, Erine Harwell and Robin Roberts. I have a strong bias to Gene Elston as my favorite voice of the game having been brought up in many ways by Gene's broadcast of Houston games. But while Elston might be my favorite, I believe Harwell was the greatest. Even when I was first dialing up for my MLB.radio subscription and the streams were constantly interrupted, it was still worth it to catch Harwell doing Tigers games.

Roberts was one of the game's most durable pitchers, and someone I was excited to hear coming to the Astros in the mid-60s even though his talent was on the downside. He actually posted some very good numbers while in a Houston uniform for parts of a couple of seasons. One of those 'underrated Hall of Famers,' if that's possible.
