Arrow Junior Coming Home?

Quote:
PEORIA, Ariz. -- Ken Griffey Jr. could be coming home in a few days.
A little more than nine years after being traded to the Reds for four players, Griffey and the Mariners are nearing agreement on a one-year contract.

ESPNInsider:

Griffey chooses Braves over Mariners

Ken Griffey Jr. has decided to play for the Braves, a person close to the veteran outfielder and familiar with the negotiations told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The newspaper reported that Griffey, one of only six players to hit more than 600 career home runs, could sign a contract with the Braves as soon as Wednesday, after his agent and Atlanta general manager Frank Wren work out final details.

The Seattle Times also reported that Griffey had chosen the Braves over the Mariners.

According to the Atlanta JC, the contract is believed to be for one year and includes a base salary of $2 million or less, with additional incentives based on plate appearances.

screw Insider, looks like Griffey just pulled an about face. Wow. First Furcal, now Junior. Sucks to be a Braves fan. Hope they enjoy Derek Lowe.

Doesn't it seem like for the moment that all is right in the baseball world today?

Junior was introduced this afternoon to the press at Mariners' camp.#24 jersey and all.

Pretty damn good fit for Griffey at this stage. Gives them a shot at letting him play some in left and also DH. The thing Seattle can't do with this is take away ABs from Clement.
